Just a thread to see what you guys have as a favorite film, both critically and personally.
Eg. Which film do you think is just perfect in every way, and which film means something to you which it might not mean to someone else and why?
Critically; my favorite has to be Inception, everything about it was amazing in my eyes, the story, the acting, the mind-numbing visuals. It had me hooked from start to finish, and I also believe it had one of the best (albeit annoying as well!) endings I have ever seen.
Personally; it would have to be Scream 4, because that's the film I saw with my girlfriend just before we started a relationship, so it's a big reminder on a personal level and I will forever remember that moment and associate Scream 4 with it.
So what about you guys?

Hmmmmmm personally star wars simply because its the film that got me interested in film and made me want to work in the industry Critically is a lot harder i would probably go with something along the lines of the departed/ gangs of New York simply for the amazing story it portrayed and the way in which the film captivates the audience.

I think 'The Prestige' is my favourite film, I love mystery films and their unexpected endings, and in my opinion The Prestige is as surprising as the Shawshank Redemption. Directed by Christopher Nolan, Writer of The Dark Knight, Inception and Momento, there was no doubt in that The Prestige was going to be a great success www.imdb.com/title/tt0482571/

Personally I'd say something like Casino Royale (with Daniel Craig) and The Fellowship of the Ring
From a critical point of view I'd have to go for The Dark Knight

Criticaly - Back to the Future the acting is perfect, the script is amazing and the music is epic Personally I would say Donnie Darko because for some reason I love the fact I had to watch it 6 times before I had a rough idea of what was going on or Star Wars, can't go wrong with Star Wars

My favourite film, which I think stands critically and also is one of my favourites, is one called Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amelie Poulain.
It's a french film by Jeam Pierre Jeunet, and I think it's shot really well, Paris looks amazing, it's funny, and it's pretty unique. It's hard to describe, but it's a very good film.
PS: has anyone seen Horrible Bosses? Apparently It's an indication that Jennifer Anniston needs to start doing Porn.

Personally: Toy Story 3. It brought all of my childhood back together and was one of the reasons why I wanted to make films, the guys at Pixar breathe life into their films in such a unique and amazing way; Toy Story 3 was a golden nostalgic film for me as a result. Critically: No Country For Old Men. So good, it's haunting. The film only having the audio and no specific soundtrack made it leap out to me, and I enjoyed it immensely. And of course it won Oscars, so there you go
