With all the hype of the film, I think everyone was expecting something phenomenal.
I'm curious to see wether I was the only one who was left disappointed and thought it had been over-hyped and over-rated?
Don't get me wrong, I still think it was an amazing film, but the hype made me expect more from it, personally I preferred Deathly Hallows Part 1 to it, and Part 2 would probably be my 3rd favorite Potter film behind DHP1 and Goblet of Fire.
Just wanted to know your thoughts on the film?

What it needs is a Fallout ending, in which Ron Perleman (or the voices of the characters) explain what happened to each of them in the aftermath of the film.
Fallout: New Vegas, Old World Blues especially, does this tio great effect. Seems like an easy thing to make on youtube; it's just still images and voice.

hmmmm i think that the defeat of voldermort needed to be bigger, i felt the movie had a fast punchy pace, which was much needed as this is the speedier part of the book, but the last 20 minutes were how to say..... a disaster. i felt the whole speed dropped horribly and not in a good way, i understand the director was trying to climax the end of the film with this unearthly slowness rather like how inception ended with a majorily dropped pace. however it just failed to work and rather than creating atmosphere it seemed to lose it :/ i was disappointed that the franchise had to end with that as the last 20 minutes i thought it was a poor send off to what has been Britain's biggest franchise over the years but alas nothings perfect i guess

Yeah I agree but I think the problem has been across the whole series, not just this one. But lets not forget it's a hugely challenging book to put into a movie. There is so much to fit in with so many characters, it's crazy!
Part 2 was good I thought and it actually filled some parts of the book that I didn't understand. I thought the visual effects were amazing and the final battle was very exciting, but....
-What I didn't like was the disregard of some of the characters like Hagrid who plays such a big role in the first few films. But he's captured by Voldermort and it's only revealed when Harry goes to Voldermorth and find him there... Even Ron and Hermione finally getting together felt like a small back story after it was built up so well in HP6 -Not enough emphasis on their return to Hogwarts for the final battle. -The chemistry between Ginny and Harry is stale once again. -And the scenes after Voldermort's death to the end were poor, the dropped pace is a good call, it was like we just killed off Voldermort now we're gonna walk around clueless for the rest of the film.
All in all, I liked the film but I still think the series as a whole was a disappointment. The whole reason was that they started before Rowling had finished the books so there were plot twists that they hadn't anticipated.

agree with the above points, should've chucked death eaters off of the bridge at the end instead of the wand, would've livened it up a bit and caused some controversy!!
